Paris is the capital of France and the global epicenter of high culture. Home to the most visited art museums in the world, as well as iconic historical and architectural landmarks, the "City of Lights" sets global cultural trends in arts, fashion, and cuisine. Paris is home to about 2.5 million people, and the city’s metropolitan area is the most populous in the European Union, with over 10.8 million inhabitants France prides itself on its refined and sumptuous cuisine, which is lauded as the finest in the world. Paris is in central France, and most any type of cuisine can be found in the city – there are over 9,000 restaurants, many of which are rated top in the world. You can try all sorts of traditional and contemporary French dishes and enjoy French mealtime rituals, such as butter croissants at breakfast, long lunches with fresh baguettes and a spread of cheeses, delicate pâtisserie sweets mid-afternoon, and multi-course dinners at a traditional brasseries.​​

Visa Information: U.S. citizens are not currently required to have a visa to enter France. Non U.S. citizens must check local visa requirements, including requirements for countries passed through in transit.
